Mission and Culture
This is something that we don't get to choose. Jesus has laid out our mission for us. He laid it out in Matthew 28:19-20. "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you."
We do have some flexibility in how we frame and contextualize that mission. Given that we are fostering a culture of Growth (AGRICULTURE) we see our Mission as: Planting, Watering, and Cultivating the seed of the Gospel in the lives of the people we engage.
We like to think we have a little culture... AGRICULTURE!
While that is intended to be a little funny, we are also quite serious about it. From the beginning of God's Word and throughout its pages it is clear that God created all living things with the ability to grow, mature, and reproduce. It is also equally clear that this is God's design for us spiritually as well. The pages of scripture are full of agricultural references and Jesus routinely used agriculture as a metaphor for spiritual growth.
We live in the beautiful Blueridge Mountains and we are surrounded by Orchards, Vineyards, and Cattle farms and so it only seems natural that we connect our relationship with God through that we which he has surrounded us with and that which He used to connect truth to everyday life.
Our Mission is To Plant, Water, and Cultivate the seed of the Gospel in the lives of those we engage.
Our Desire is that you experience Growth For Life!
